LEVEL UP! update

New version is released, featuring generated levels and new graphics:

New demo can be downloaded too.

Tiles were exported from Sproxel development version by my Python plug-in.

I’m going to make a tech demo of Arcane Worlds now, so you can download it and test how it runs on your hardware. Non-interactive probably.

    Excellent demo! Are you planning to add ricochet ammo or levels that require players to bounce snots off walls in order to hit out of reach enemies (or solve puzzles)?

      Thanks!
      Yeah, I’m going to add many weapons and upgrades, so ricochet is definitely an option.
      Also:
      * Wired things, so when you destroy a box at one end, a door is opened on the other, or a turret is disabled.
      * Huge bosses you can blast holes in and get inside to reach their vulnerable spots.
      * Enemies digging/blasting through level.

    Are the levels handmade or procedurally generated? They look pretty good! Looking forward to the next update for this game.

      Procedurally generated from handmade tiles, templates and scripts :)
      The algorithm is similar to what Spelunky uses.

        Neat I hope you’ll continue to update this game. With more enemies and interesting levels this could shape up to become great. :D

          Yeah, I’ll continue to update both games. I usually get bored working on a single project for more than two weeks, so I have several to switch between them.
