Why does everything always look so good in Arcane Worlds? How do you do it alone? :>

      Thanks.
I have a lot of experience and I know my limits, so I do what I know will look quite good, and I don’t even try to make things I know I’m not good enough at.

Norton Says Its Virus Again, This Time It Says Both Installer And Zip File Is Virus.

I’m pretty sure there are no viruses, and Norton just gets paranoid.
I guess I need to get a code signing certificate to avoid this, but that’ll take some time.

Alright, just gave you my 5$/4€ . :) Heard about it on RPS a while ago. Then now I see your development is coming along !

So i’m putting my trust in you, if you can deliver something as cool as the original magic carpet. Maybe if you can deliver some modding tools to create levels/quests, it will guarantee a decent amount of content on top of you base. :)

Final levels will be able to be much bigger than right now I hope? I would really like if they don’t have the same size limitations as in the original magic carpet. :)

    Regards,

    Tom.

      Thanks!

The main limiting factor for world size is water/lava simulation. It’s quite CPU hungry, and when I increase the size, it gets more cache misses and gets much more slower on older CPUs.
I’ll try to profile and optimize it later, and if that’ll work out I’ll double the world size. But I doubt it’s possible to increase it more than that.

The small worlds have their advantages. They are much faster to generate and to send by network for multiplayer. Also smaller worlds mean less objects to simulate and sync by network.

I’ll look into modding support when I’ll get to world scripting.
